Inland haulage is subject to truck / chassis availability. Unless the inland haulage service is requested 2 days in advance, truck availability cannot be guaranteed. Any port expenses and demurrages accumulated as a result of non timely submission of a haulage request will be for account of cargo. Special chassis can be arranged only upon request.
Maximum gross weight cargo (excluding container tare), which is acceptable for all trucking upon discharge from vessel at the Thessaloniki is:
- 20,000 kgs for 20’ containers
- 22,000 kgs for 40’ containers
Consignee has freetime for discharge of the container till the end of the calendar day following the day of arrival.
Following charges apply for truck detention after above indicated free period:
- EUR 100 for the first 24 hours commenced, then EUR 200 for any second 24 hours commenced.
Customer is requested to inform Maersk Bulgaria local office when truck / container has not arrived 1 hour after appointed arrival time. In case arrival delay was not communicated to Maersk Bulgaria within above period, customer's claim in regard with this arrival delay will not be processed.
Haulage arranged by the Merchant
Following conditions apply for haulage arranged by the merchant / cargo:
- Pre-approval obtained from Maersk Bulgaria local office.
- Signing a special agreement with Maersk Bulgaria which includes either placing of an effective deposit, issuance of a promissory note or bank guarantee for the equipment.
- Non-returnable merchant haulage fee of EUR 50 per transport.
- Containers need to be returned to Maersk in the pick-up location within the free period. Thereafter Demurrage and Detention will be charged (please see separate Demurrage & Detention tariff of Export and Import)
