A transit document allows free movement of cargo and containers through Peruvian territories, suspending the payment of duty and VAT until the destination.

Mandatory Documents for Exports:

  • Signed Power of Attorney (Notarized letter or electronic POA via password SOL-SUNAT)
  • Shipping Documents
  • Licenses and Certificates for restricted goods

Q: What can hold up my Customs Clearance?
A: The usual delay is due to lack of documentation and the delay in the payment of customs duties.

Q: What is a DI? What is a DUS
A: A: DI It stands for Declaracion de Ingreso (means Entry Customs Declaration).
B: DUS stands for Declaracion única de Ingresos (means Exit Customs Declaration)

Q: How will I know when my shipment has cleared customs?
A: : Maersk sends a confirmation that the goods have been cleared.

Q: Who can I contact regarding my Customs Clearance?

CHB = Customs House Brokerage
VAT = Value Added Tax
HTS = Harmonized Tariff Schedule
EORI = Economic Operators’ Registration and Identification
AEO = Authorized Economic Operator

Procedures

Feeder service ex Arica, Iquique and Bolivia:

Arica, Iquique and Bolivia cargoes, are served by a feeder vessel. In cases of shipments with hazardous cargo you must get special acceptance, same applies to Oversize cargo.

Feeder service ex Punta Arenas and Puerto Chacabuco:

Cargo is served by the southern feeder that connects with our "mother" vessel in San Vicente Port. In cases of shipments with hazardous cargo you must get special acceptance, same applies to Oversize cargo. In any of these cases please contact customer service at +56 2 22309900

Bill of Lading clausing, documentation:

Bill of lading MUST show weight in kilograms.

Due to Customs regulations Chilean cargo must have a Chilean Shipper stated on the Bill of lading.
