Detention:This is the compensation to Maersk Line for the usage of the container at the customer's premises when the free time of 24 hours after container gate-out has expired. This is both applicable for merchant and carrier haulage. For merchant haulage, a caution needs to be left as a deposit

Procedures

General booking procedures

The bookings have to be placed either:

  • via email to the following address cmrcsegen@maersk.com
  • via our booking application on the WEB at www.maerskline.com
  • via our booking application if you use Desktop Solution
  • via fax: +237 33 42 11 86

Booking details have to be submitted in writing and have to contain all valid details like:

  • cargo details (commodity, weight, measurement etc)
  • container size
  • number and type of containers to be booked
  • discharging port
  • vessel (and voyage) to ship on
  • haulage details

And any other important information

For carrier haulage bookings, we need a minimum of two days notice prior to the positioning date. Otherwise we cannot guarantee you to arrange your positioning as booked

Please note that by using the e-mail or the fax, your instruction are completely retyped and by using shipping instruction application on the web or on desktop solution, the instructions are taken over and are not changed in any way, unless further notice from you.

Restriction

Routing 

Only merchant haulage from Bangui, Central African Republic to port of Douala and Cameroon.

Weight / Measurement 

Cargo must be less than to 22 tons for 20' dry container and 28 tons for 40' dry container.

Special Cargoes

  • Out of Gauge and Break bulk shipments are subject to Maersk Line’s approval.
  • No reefer acceptance in Central African Republic.
  • Port of loading is Douala
  • Receipt service is CY.

Equipment 

No acceptance of aluminium containers, reefer containers and 45' containers.

Payment / currency 

The payment currency is Franc CFA (XAF) 1 EURO = 656 XAF
