The Maersk group operates one of the most comprehensive marine container terminals networks in the world, under the brand of APM Terminals, with over 20,000 employees operating 76 terminals in 36 countries and growing.

APM Terminals (APMT) plays a critical role in enabling the global Maersk Ocean and Logistics network as well as serving other Shipping Lines, Beneficial Cargo Owners, Freight Forwarders, intermodal logistics providers and integrating with a wide variety of local port authorities, customs and government bodies across our global network of transhipment, import and export gateway terminals.

In support of the broader Maersk strategy, we are accelerating the transformation of our business from a portfolio of independently operated terminals, into a safer, better, bigger global terminals operator.

We offer

As an international business on a high-tech journey, we don’t just transport millions of tons of cargo. We’re leading a digital revolution in global trade, creating opportunities for millions of customers around the world through new technology, data science, and artificial intelligence. Growing your skills with Maersk means growing global trade and reinventing our industry.

We are looking for a confident UX Designer whose years of experience in research, wireframing, prototyping and design will enable them to make a difference in our business.
You will work across the design cycle, capturing a detailed understanding of user needs, creating conceptual and detailed designs, and validating them. Additionally, you will be accountable for the evolution of the APMT Design System – working with your peers and our external partners to ensure that it delivers industry-leading experiences across all channels.

Key responsibilities

• (Initially) crafting the user experience across our three product scrum teams (.com platform, Truck Appointments and Self-service /Ecommerce) - alongside designers from our external partners.
• (Transitioning to) a combination of hands-on designing, design system development and cross-group design governance & collaboration.
• Consume, analyse and translate user, business and technical requirements into coherent digital experiences that sets APM Terminals apart from its industry peers.
• Own UX projects from start to finish. From the creation of journey maps and personas to the sketching, wireframing and prototyping of the end-to-end journey and finally applying the visual finish.
• Work closely with other designers, UX researchers, engineers, product managers, data analysts and business stakeholders to explore, build and deliver your designs.
• Participate in peer reviews across the wider UX function to help continuously improve output.
• Participate in and facilitate design-thinking workshops.
• Own and support the evolution of the Design System, ensuring that it remains our ‘single source of UX truth’ for our digital estate.
• Proactively monitor the performance of UX output, ensuring that the product backlog is supported by data-driven design decisions.
• Act as an internal ambassador for the UX design function, inspiring, driving and educating the wider business around the value of UX.

We are looking for

• 5+ years commercial UX design experience with a proven track record in delivering complex projects in a pragmatic and collaborative manner.
• A strong, well-curated portfolio, showcasing both your interaction and visual design skills.
• A passion for solving product problems while balancing all facets of a user experience (strategy and research, information architecture, interaction design)
• A good understanding of the end-to-end iterative design process including how to develop and use design research, journey mapping, wire-framing, prototyping, and user testing to achieve human-centred design solutions.
• A creative flair for applying the visual finish to final designs.
• A proficiency in interaction design for native mobile and web applications
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• The ability to articulate, practise and promote the Design Thinking process and user-centric design approach across the organisation.
• Proficiency with current industry design and collaboration tools such as Figma, Sketch, Azure, etc.
• Experience working in an agile development process and/or Iterative UX environment – and an environment that is undergoing large change.
• A high-level understanding of front-end technologies and the opportunities they present in delivering a world-class user experience.
• A team-player, who is both passionate, yet pragmatic and will be energised by embarking on this journey with us.
