Opportunity

We are looking for great talent for an exciting opportunity for HUB Planning & Execution. 
The position is responsible to organize vessel berthing line up for the Hub Ports (Tanjung Pelepas & Singapore) by minimizing the waiting time and looking into prioritization. The position in MY covers Tanjung Pelepas HUB (which is one of the global hubs for Maersk) and Singapore HUB (which is a regional HUB).


The work location is in Tanjung Pelepas, Johor Bahru.

Job responsibilities

  • To organize vessel berthing line up for the Hub Ports (Tanjung Pelepas & Singapore) by minimizing the waiting time and looking into prioritization
  • Improve Port efficiency and reduce overall operational cost.
  • Cargo connection checks daily to ensure tight connections bookings coordinated with terminal.
  • Follow up with husbandry team / vendors on vessel activities during berth for smooth coordination and to complete within vessels port stay permitted
  • Ability to coordinate with Marine & Capacity team for decisions to swap vessel rotation if required.
  • Communicate with vessel on the speed control / ETA into the hub ports to reduce bunker and idling time for berthing.
  • Planning a vessel game plan 24hrs prior vessel arrival and measuring the performance, if any failure to do root cause analysis.
  • Preparation of daily operational reports, attending regular schedule meeting with terminal and sharing with stakeholders.
  • Creation of vessel schedule into the port system weekly and closely update terminals if any changes on schedule or changes in vessel service.
  • Preparation of incident reports when required and keeping stakeholders updated timely.
  • Ability to work 24/7 rotational shift and prepare a clear handover to the incoming shift.

Required skills:

  • Problem solving – identify root causes and bring into implementation strong solutions and preventive plans.
  • Planning skills would be an advantage– able to identify and implement key initiatives for utilization enhancement, lead time improvement, efficiency gains.
  • Details oriented, willing to learn and good communication skill.

Required experience and qualifications:

  • Fluent in English is a MUST.
  • Proficiency in Bahasa language is a plus.
  • Ability to work 24/7 rotational shift and flexible to travel to Singapore in the future. 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in operations or customer experience is a PLUS.
