Dock Worker- Santa Fe Springs
Opportunity
We are looking for a Dock Worker to join our North America Warehouse and Distribution team.
This position will be based in Santa Fe Springs, CA

Our warehouse network spans from East to West Coasts of the United States and in Canada. Our services include transloading and automated sortation, cross-docking, replenishment, drayage management, and inland transportation.

Key responsibilities
Position Summary:
Assist a crew in the loading/unloading of freight using specified equipment by company provided means and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Report to supervisor and/or Lead for job and crew assignment
• Do daily forklift inspection and report to supervisor
• Operate propane and electric powered forklifts
• Maintain safety rules at all times
• Load and unload freight as directed by shift supervisor
• Maintain productivity levels as set by Facility Management
• Receive daily work assignments from supervision
• Verify shipping documents, shipping labels, and purchase orders
• Accurately match freight/product with work instructions, orders and shipping documents and reconcile accordingly
• Build stable loads in outbound trailers which result in maximum cubing
• Responsible for maintaining clean and safe work area
• Handle cartons weighing 40 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 75 pounds
• Re-configure product using equipment or by hand as required
• Utilize systems (i.e.: WMOS, SAP, WEB systems, GLS, etc) to produce required documents for inventory receipt, movement or shipping and verifying product. May be required to identify and understand Batch codes and Julian dates and understand ASN use and system requirements
• Use forklift mounted hardware
• Comply with all internal and customer SOP’s
• Additional equipment certifications may be required based on facility and client requirements
• Supports the company’s commitment quality program, which includes customer specific Quality program(s) and training requirements
• Performs job related duties as specified by management

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; not required
• Able to speak, read and write in English
• Forklift driving certification and training
• Basic math skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform well with time-sensitive tasks
• Ability to work nights, holidays and weekends is required. Overtime may be required.
