MMC

Business Analyst

  • Top bachelor graduate wanting to be hired for full time roles, internships or part time positions during masters’ studies.
  • Business Analysts typically support consultants in preparing and executing analyses and presentations related to specific project.
  • They are given responsibility for their own sub-deliverables.

My path to MMC

I attended a guest lecture of an MMC consultant as a part of the 2nd year at my bachelor and found the work, the enthusiasm and the Maersk Group fascinating right from the start. As a result, I went to Panama City the following summer to do an internship in Maersk Line. Fueled by an ambition of taking up the challenge of top tier consultancy as well as a fascination of the Maersk Group, I applied for a position right away. From there, the process was straightforward and comparable to the application processes of external consultancies.

Why I joined MMC

I joined MMC as it allows me to dive into the world of consulting while taking a Master’s degree at the Copenhagen Business School, thus allowing me to apply concepts from class in real life business situations. At MMC you get to be part of a consultancy team with colleagues from all over the world with experience from the world’s top tier consultancy firms. This provides you with a steep learning curve, personally as well as professionally. Besides, you get to fast track your career in a fortune 500 company with great opportunities for the future.

As a Business Analyst at MMC you get to face senior clients, actively participate in truly global projects and take individual responsibility.

Laurids, Business Analyst

Most rewarding part of my job

As a Business Analyst at MMC you get to face senior clients, actively participate in truly global projects and take individual responsibility. As an example, I got to write a memo going directly to the board as well as individually present in front of very senior VP’s throughout my first three months in MMC. That is a unique value proposition for a student that you will hardly find in external consultancies anywhere. In MMC the commitment and investment made in your development is evident every day – from the relationships with your managers to the individual responsibility you get from day 1.

What I’d like to share about MMC

At MMC you are regarded as a full member of the team even though you are still studying, this implies that you get to do projects around the world and personally make an impact. Likewise, you get to share great experiences with your colleagues outside work. For example, we have a lot of social events and Friday bars during the year – including our annual strategy and teambuilding trip, which went to Lake Como in Italy this year.

What I do in my spare time

Copenhagen has a lot to offer and there is always something new happening in the city, be it new restaurants, a new art gallery opening up – or a Friday bar with the colleagues. I like exploring the city and all its different facets in my free time.
