My path to MMC

On completing my PhD (in Corporate Strategy & Finance) at Aarhus University, I joined the A.T. Kearney management consultancy in Copenhagen in order to continue my ‘education’ in the business world. After almost 5 years (of which 1½ were spent as a Project Manager), I joined MMC in June 2014.

Why I joined MMC

I have always been fascinated by the Maersk Group, and I have enjoyed working on the few projects that I have across the Group immensely. MMC has provided me with the opportunity to work with strategic issues for Maersk full-time. In addition, it offers a deeper and more fulfilling client relationship and impact, and a more ‘human’ environment than do partner-led management consultancies.

We have built up quite a comprehensive and impressive training curriculum, which employs top internal and external trainers.

Most rewarding part of my job

Working closely together with my impressive consulting and non-consulting colleagues to deliver impactful results to the Maersk business unit leadership teams.

What I’d like to share about MMC

I am the head of our capability building unit, and in my opinion, we have built up quite a comprehensive and impressive training curriculum, which employs top internal and external trainers and is a ‘best of’ in terms of what we all have experienced previously, within and outside of management consulting.

What I do in my spare time

I try to stay fit, travel abroad (both overseas, and to different European cities for a break), and attempt to showcase my skills on the golf course (sometimes with limited success!). Besides that, I enjoy spending quality time with my wife, as well as great food, wine and cocktails with my friends.
