With safety, we all work towards a common goal.
Our goal is simple: Zero fatalities
Many of our operations entail major safety risks. They vary from business to business, but the priority is the same: We focus on creating a working environment where safety is deeply rooted into behaviour, performance and company culture. Our responsibility is to ensure that our employees return safely to their homes and families after work.
A joint effort across our businesses
The safety policy
Safety is the subject of one of five policies, in which A.P. Moller - Maersk determines it will:
promote a culture of commitment to healthy and safe workplaces,
manage any health and safety risks connected to our activities and communicate openly about our lessons learnt, as well as
set and comply with our own health, safety and environmental standards which will meet or exceed applicable health and safety regulations and relevant standards.
The businesses are responsible for implementing and integrating safety management in their operations and procedures.
In each of the businesses in A.P. Moller - Maersk, safety risks are managed through safety organisations spanning from top management to the last person employed. We work to ensure that safety measures are in place, in focus and on the minds of the entire organisation.
In practice, our safety organization works within five key areas: leadership, behaviour and culture, innovation and technology, competence and capability, and knowledge, and sharing.
