Franz Willum Sørensen (38) International Production Development, is appointed Vice President in Mærsk Olie og Gas AS.

Franz Willum Sørensen is M.Sc. Geophysics from Copenhagen University and M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. In 1994 he joined Mærsk Olie og Gas AS as a Well Site Engineer and in 1996 he continued as an Engineer in the Drilling Department. In 1998 Franz Willum Sørensen was appointed Petroleum Engineer and in 2000 he was appointed Senior Reservoir Engineer in the Petroleum Engineering Department.

In 2001 Franz Willum Sørensen was cross-posted to Shell, USA, where he worked with deep water field development. In 2004 he returned to Copenhagen to a position as Lead Reservoir Engineer in the Production Development Department.

Since August 2005 Franz Willum Sørensen has been responsible for preparation of field development plans for Mærsk Olie og Gas AS’ international activities and for the Danish gas fields.
