Tanker vessels named

The following is published on behalf of Maersk Tankers & Trampers:


A.P. Møller has named another two handy size vessels. These are the ninth and tenth vessels in a series of 14 product tankers being built by Guangzhou Shipyard to the A.P. Moller Group.


On 11 May 2002, Guangzhou newbuilding Hull No. 013001 was named MAERSK RAMSGATE by Ms Kathryn Ann Lockie, the daughter of Mr Andrew Lockie, Chartering Manager, BP.


Mrs Isabelle Faurisson, the wife of Mr Olivier Faurisson, Chartering Manager, TotalFinaElf named Guangzhou newbuilding Hull No. 013002 MAERSK ROSYTH.


MAERSK RAMSGATE and MAERSK ROSYTH are handy-sized product carriers with a length of 171.2 meters and a width of 27.4 meters each. Each vessel has a dead-weight of 35,000 tons, a capacity of 38,316 cbm and a speed of 14.5 knots when fully loaded.


Both vessels will after delivery be trading as a part of the Handytankers pool of product carriers mainly in the European and Mediterranean markets.
