The second newbuilding in a series of six container vessels for Maersk Sealand was named at Odense Steel Shipyard Saturday, 2 June 2001. The Lindø newbuilding no. 172 was named by Ms Catherine Ladnier, who was accompanied by her husband, Mr John Michael Robinson, CEO, President and Chairman of Footstar, Inc., one of the largest footwear retailers in the USA and a prominent business partner for Maersk Logistics and Maersk Sealand.

After sea trials in mid June the vessel will be delivered to A.P. Møller and enter Maersk Sealand’s world-wide service.
LAUST MÆRSK will have her homeport in Bogense. The vessel has a crew of 13 and will be commanded by Captain Søren Sparre Maagaard with Kim Vium Laursen as Chief Engineer.
