Namegiving of two 35,000 dwt product tankers

A.P. Møller has named the first two vessels in a series of four product tankers being built by Dalian Shipyard, Peoples Republic of China, to The A.P. Moller Group.


On 20 March 2003, Dalian Shipyard newbuilding No. 350-1 was named MAERSK RICHMOND by Mrs Susanne Berendtsen Paulli, the wife of Kent Paulli, Chartering Manager, Adam Maritime Corporation, Stamford.


Ms Sherry Zambrano, the daughter of Rosendo Zambrano, Commercial Director, PMI Trading Limited, Mexico City, named Dalian Shipyard newbuilding No. 350-2 MAERSK REGENT. Both vessels are registered in London, United kingdom.


MAERSK RICHMOND and MAERSK REGENT are handy-sized product carriers with a length of 171.2 meters and a width of 27.4 meters each. Each vessel has a weight of 35,000 dwt, a capacity of 38,316 cbm and a speed of 14.5 knots.


After delivery, the vessels will be trading in the Handytankers pool mainly in the European market.
