Vice President Thomas Ørting Jørgensen (40), Copenhagen, is as of 28 January 2002 appointed Senior Vice President in A.P. Møller.


Thomas Ørting Jørgensen joined A.P. Møller as a trainee in 1982. After finishing his education he was stationed in Dubai for the Line Department (now Maersk Sealand). In 1986 he was transferred to Abidjan as Sales Manager before he returned to the head office in Copenhagen in 1989.


In 1991 he was stationed in Tokyo, where he was responsible for the liner traffic between the Asian countries. In 1993 he went to Taiwan as Line Manager and returned to Copenhagen in 1995. Here he was responsible for the liner traffic to and from Africa. In 1997 he was appointed Director.


Thomas Ørting Jørgensen was in 1999 appointed Vice President and Regional Line Manager for Europe and Africa.


Thomas Ørting Jørgensen has a.o. supplemented his education with management courses at INSEAD.
