Mr Jørn Steen Nielsen is appointed Executive Vice President

Senior Vice President Jørn Steen Nielsen (49), Vedbæk has been appointed Executive Vice President in A.P. Møller.
Jørn Steen Nielsen is responsible for the Maersk Broker organisation, which comprises global shipbroking activities within chartering, sale & purchase, contracting of newbuildings, project broking, and ship agency.
Jørn Steen Nielsen has a shipping education from A.P. Møller and joined Maersk Tankers after completing his basic education. From 1974 to 1977 he was assigned to Mr Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller’s Secretariat, before transferring to the Maersk Bulk activities. Here he was appointed Manager.
In 1984 Jørn Steen Nielsen joined Maersk Supply Service, where he was responsible for marketing and operation of A.P. Møller’s fleet of offshore vessels. In 1985 he was appointed General Manager.
In 1988 Jørn Steen Nielsen transferred to the sale and purchase / newbuilding activities. In 1990 he was appointed Director and at the same time assumed management of the activities. In 1993 he was appointed Vice President, and in 1997 the appointment to Senior Vice President followed, simultaneously with the responsibility for the global Maersk Broker shipbroking activities.
Jørn Steen Nielsen has supplemented his education with management courses at INSEAD in Fontainebleu, IMD in Lausanne and Harvard Business School in Boston.
